Money is Not Evil

Many times, I’ve heard people say, “Money is the root of all evil.” They couldn’t be more wrong. The Bible, in 1 Timothy 6:10 says, “The LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil . . .” I’m a Bible believer and I believe that the Bible is the holy and inherent word of God. Therefore, that verse must be true.

However, I’ve never really loved money, I love making money – the process of making money. I haven’t been blessed with billions of dollars, but I do enjoy working and working happens to make you an agreed upon amount of money per task and there is nothing evil about it. It buys you a lots of things – things you want and things you need like the three basic life necessities of life: food, shelter, and clothing.

It also buys you freedom – freedom from stress and worry about bills and payments, food and things for you and your family that you need. There are many problems or worries one doesn’t have if they acquire a certain amount of money.

You can be self-sufficient and pay for the things you need and if you work really hard and you’re really blessed, you can buy many of the things you want too. And, if you’re blessed even more, you can give back to others who need help. Being able to give philanthropically is a great blessing to others and to ourselves. Why? Because as the Bible also says in Acts 20:35, “. . . It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

While money can buy tangible things and intangible things like freedom, the one thing money cannot buy is time, so be a little selfish with what you have. You can get your money back if you lose it, but once your time is gone, you can never get it back. So spend both your money and your time wisely – – all for the good of yourself and others.
